وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿١٣٩﴾
Jonás fue, ciertamente, uno de los enviados.

Yunus is called “the man of the fish” in the Quran.
La historia
The ship and the fish
Yunus flees to a laden ship. They cast lots and he is among those who lose, and the fish swallows him while he is blameworthy. Had he not been among those who glorify Allah, he would have stayed in its belly until the Day they are resurrected. He is cast on a barren shore, ill, and a gourd vine grows over him.
Mostrar los versículos (10)
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ﴿١٤٠﴾
Cuando se escapó a la nave abarrotada.
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ ﴿١٤١﴾
Echó suertes y perdió.
فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌۭ ﴿١٤٢﴾
El pez se lo tragó, había incurrido en censura.
فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ ﴿١٤٣﴾
Si no hubiera sido de los que glorifican,
لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ﴿١٤٤﴾
habría permanecido en su vientre hasta el día de la Resurrección.
۞ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌۭ ﴿١٤٥﴾
Le arrojamos, indispuesto, a una costa desnuda
وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةًۭ مِّن يَقْطِينٍۢ ﴿١٤٦﴾
e hicimos crecer sobre él una calabacera.
وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ ﴿١٤٧﴾
Y le enviamos a cien mil o más.
فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ ﴿١٤٨﴾
Creyeron y les permitimos gozar por algún tiempo.
The prayer in the darkness
He goes off in anger, thinking that Allah would not decree anything against him, and calls out in the darknesses: “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.” Allah answers him and saves him from the distress, as He saves the believers.
Mostrar los versículos (2)
وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبًۭا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٨٧﴾
Y al del pez. Cuando se fue airado y creyó que no podríamos hacer nada contra él. Y clamó en las tinieblas: «¡No hay más dios que Tú! ¡Gloria a Ti! He sido de los impíos».
فَٱسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُۨجِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٨٨﴾
Le escuchamos, pues, y le salvamos de la tribulación. Así es como salvamos a los creyentes.
A people who believed
Of all the cities, none believed so that its faith benefited it, except the people of Yunus. Allah removed from them the punishment of disgrace in worldly life and let them enjoy life for a time.
Mostrar los versículos (1)
فَلَوْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ ءَامَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَآ إِيمَٰنُهَآ إِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ ءَامَنُوا۟ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْخِزْىِ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ ﴿٩٨﴾
¿Por qué no ha habido ninguna ciudad que haya creído y a la que su fe haya aprovechado, fuera del pueblo de Jonás...? Cuando creyeron, les evitamos el castigo, vergonzoso en la vida de acá y les permitimos gozar aún por algún tiempo.
