What are the 99 Names of Allah?
They are the Beautiful Names (Asma ul-Husna) by which Allah describes Himself in the Quran and through His Messenger, peace be upon him, such as Ar-Rahman (The Most Gracious) and Al-Ghafur (The Great Forgiver).
Is there one agreed list of 99 names?
The Prophet, peace be upon him, said that Allah has ninety-nine names (Sahih al-Bukhari 7392). Scholars list them a little differently. We use the same list as the Names of Allah section of this website.
