About Eid al-Adha
Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, falls on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah. It remembers the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son for Allah, who replaced the sacrifice with a ram.
Muslims pray the Eid prayer, and those who are able sacrifice an animal and share the meat with family, neighbours and those in need. The days that follow, 11 to 13 Dhu al-Hijjah, are the days of Tashreeq.
