محمد ﷺ
The Quran names Muhammad ﷺ four times (3:144, 33:40, 47:2 and 48:29). This page gathers some of the verses that speak to him and about him.
Allah says that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets. He is sent as a witness, a bringer of good tidings and a warner, one who invites to Allah by His permission and an illuminating lamp, and only as a mercy to the worlds.
Al-Ahzab 33:40Al-Ahzab 33:45–46Al-Anbiya 21:107
مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٍۢ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًۭا ﴿٤٠﴾
Muhammad si baba wa yeyote katika wanaume wenu, bali ni Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu na Mwisho wa Manabii, na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mjuzi wa kila kitu.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ شَٰهِدًۭا وَمُبَشِّرًۭا وَنَذِيرًۭا ﴿٤٥﴾
Ewe Nabii! Hakika Sisi tumekutuma uwe shahidi na mbashiri na mwonyaji,
وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَسِرَاجًۭا مُّنِيرًۭا ﴿٤٦﴾
Na mwitaji kumwendea Mwenyezi Mungu kwa idhini yake, na taa yenye kutoa nuru.
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٠٧﴾
Nasi hatukukutuma ila uwe ni Rehema kwa walimwengu wote.
Allah swears by the morning brightness and the night when it covers that his Lord has not taken leave of him nor detested him, that the Hereafter is better for him than the first life, and that his Lord will give him so that he is satisfied. He found him an orphan and sheltered him, lost and guided him, poor and enriched him. He expanded his breast and removed his burden: with hardship there is ease.
Ad-Duha 93:1–11Ash-Sharh 94:1–8
وَٱلضُّحَىٰ ﴿١﴾
Naapa kwa mchana!
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ﴿٢﴾
Na kwa usiku unapo tanda!
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ﴿٣﴾
Mola wako Mlezi hakukuacha, wala hakukasirika nawe.
وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ﴿٤﴾
Na bila ya shaka wakati ujao utakuwa bora kwako kuliko ulio tangulia.
وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ ﴿٥﴾
Na Mola wako Mlezi atakupa mpaka uridhike.
أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًۭا فَـَٔاوَىٰ ﴿٦﴾
Kwani hakukukuta yatima akakupa makaazi?
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّۭا فَهَدَىٰ ﴿٧﴾
Na akakukuta umepotea akakuongoa?
وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًۭا فَأَغْنَىٰ ﴿٨﴾
Akakukuta mhitaji akakutosheleza?
فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ ﴿٩﴾
Basi yatima usimwonee!
وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ ﴿١٠﴾
Na anaye omba au kuuliza usimkaripie!
وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ﴿١١﴾
Na neema za Mola wako Mlezi zisimlie.
أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ﴿١﴾
Hatukukunjulia kifua chako?
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ﴿٢﴾
Na tukakuondolea mzigo wako,
ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ﴿٣﴾
Ulio vunja mgongo wako?
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ﴿٤﴾
Na tukakunyanyulia utajo wako?
فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ﴿٥﴾
Basi kwa hakika pamoja na uzito upo wepesi,
إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًۭا ﴿٦﴾
Hakika pamoja na uzito upo wepesi.
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ ﴿٧﴾
Na ukipata faragha, fanya juhudi.
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب ﴿٨﴾
Na Mola wako Mlezi ndio mshughulikie.
A messenger has come to the people from among themselves. What they suffer is grievous to him; he is concerned over them, and to the believers he is kind and merciful. If they turn away, he says: “Sufficient for me is Allah.” By Allah’s mercy he was lenient with them; had he been rude and harsh of heart, they would have dispersed from around him.

لَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ ﴿١٢٨﴾
Hakika amekwisha kujieni Mtume kutokana na nyinyi wenyewe; yanamhuzunisha yanayo kutaabisheni; anakuhangaikieni sana. Kwa Waumini ni mpole na mwenye huruma.
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ حَسْبِىَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖ وَهُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿١٢٩﴾
Basi wakigeuka, wewe sema: Mwenyezi Mungu ananitosheleza. Hapana mungu isipokuwa Yeye tu. Mimi namtegemea Yeye, na Yeye ndiye Mola Mlezi wa Kiti Kikuu cha Enzi.
فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ ﴿١٥٩﴾
Basi ni kwa sababu ya rehema itokayo kwa Mwenyezi Mungu ndio umekuwa laini kwao. Na lau ungeli kuwa mkali, mwenye moyo mgumu, bila ya shaka wangeli kukimbia. Basi wasamehe, na waombee maghfira, na shauriana nao katika mambo. Na ukisha kata shauri basi mtegemee Mwenyezi Mungu. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu huwapenda wanao mtegemea.
