محمد ﷺ
De Koran noemt Mohammed ﷺ vier keer bij naam (3:144, 33:40, 47:2 en 48:29). Deze pagina verzamelt enkele van de verzen die tot hem en over hem spreken.
Allah zegt dat Mohammed de Boodschapper van Allah is en het zegel van de profeten. Hij is gezonden als getuige, brenger van goed nieuws en waarschuwer, iemand die met Zijn toestemming tot Allah oproept en een verlichtende lamp, en slechts als een barmhartigheid voor de werelden.
Al-Ahzab 33:40Al-Ahzab 33:45–46Al-Anbiya 21:107
مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٍۢ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًۭا ﴿٤٠﴾
Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets. And ever is Allah, of all things, Knowing.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ شَٰهِدًۭا وَمُبَشِّرًۭا وَنَذِيرًۭا ﴿٤٥﴾
O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَسِرَاجًۭا مُّنِيرًۭا ﴿٤٦﴾
And one who invites to Allah, by His permission, and an illuminating lamp.
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٠٧﴾
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.
Allah zweert bij het ochtendlicht en de nacht wanneer zij bedekt dat zijn Heer hem niet heeft verlaten en niet is gaan verafschuwen, dat het hiernamaals beter voor hem is dan het eerste leven, en dat zijn Heer hem zal geven zodat hij tevreden zal zijn. Hij vond hem als wees en gaf hem onderdak, dwalend en leidde hem, arm en maakte hem rijk. Hij verruimde zijn borst en nam zijn last weg: met moeilijkheid is er verlichting.
Ad-Duha 93:1–11Ash-Sharh 94:1–8
وَٱلضُّحَىٰ ﴿١﴾
By the morning brightness
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ﴿٢﴾
And [by] the night when it covers with darkness,
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ﴿٣﴾
Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you].
وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ﴿٤﴾
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].
وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰٓ ﴿٥﴾
And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied.
أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًۭا فَـَٔاوَىٰ ﴿٦﴾
Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?
وَوَجَدَكَ ضَآلًّۭا فَهَدَىٰ ﴿٧﴾
And He found you lost and guided [you],
وَوَجَدَكَ عَآئِلًۭا فَأَغْنَىٰ ﴿٨﴾
And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient.
فَأَمَّا ٱلْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ ﴿٩﴾
So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him].
وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ ﴿١٠﴾
And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him].
وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ ﴿١١﴾
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].
أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ﴿١﴾
Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast?
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ﴿٢﴾
And We removed from you your burden
ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ﴿٣﴾
Which had weighed upon your back
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ﴿٤﴾
And raised high for you your repute.
فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ﴿٥﴾
For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًۭا ﴿٦﴾
Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ ﴿٧﴾
So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب ﴿٨﴾
And to your Lord direct [your] longing.
Een boodschapper is tot de mensen gekomen uit hun eigen midden. Wat zij lijden, is hem zwaar; hij maakt zich zorgen om hen, en voor de gelovigen is hij vriendelijk en barmhartig. Als zij zich afwenden, zegt hij: “Allah is mij genoeg.” Door Allahs barmhartigheid was hij zachtmoedig tegen hen; was hij onbeleefd en hardvochtig geweest, dan waren zij van om hem heen uiteengegaan.
At-Tawbah 9:128–129Ali 'Imran 3:159
لَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۭ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ ﴿١٢٨﴾
There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُلْ حَسْبِىَ ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖ وَهُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿١٢٩﴾
But if they turn away, [O Muhammad], say, "Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne."
فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ ﴿١٥٩﴾
So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him].
