About this quiz
Islam is built on five pillars and its faith on six articles of belief, as the Prophet ﷺ explained in the hadiths of Ibn 'Umar and Jibril. This quiz checks what you know about both: the acts every Muslim performs and the things every Muslim believes. After each answer you see the explanation and the hadith or verse behind it.

Questions about this quiz
What are the five pillars of Islam?
The testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger, establishing the prayer, giving zakat, fasting Ramadan, and Hajj to the House for those who are able (Sahih al-Bukhari 8 and Sahih Muslim 16).
What are the six articles of faith?
Belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and the divine decree, its good and its bad (Sahih Muslim 8, the hadith of Jibril).
What is the difference between Islam and iman?
In the hadith of Jibril, Islam is described through outward acts, the five pillars, and iman through what is believed in the heart, the six articles. Scholars explain that when the two words are mentioned together they differ, and when one is mentioned alone it includes the other.
