The Quran lists the women a man may not marry because of blood, marriage and nursing relationships, such as mothers, daughters, sisters and aunts (4:23), and it forbids marrying women whom one's father had married (4:22).
وَلَا تَنكِحُوا۟ مَا نَكَحَ ءَابَآؤُكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَٰحِشَةًۭ وَمَقْتًۭا وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًا ﴿٢٢﴾
En adelante. no os caséis con las mujeres con que han estado casados vuestros padres. Sería deshonesto y aborrecible. ¡Mal camino...!
حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَّهَٰتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُكُمْ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُمْ وَعَمَّٰتُكُمْ وَخَٰلَٰتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلْأَخِ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلْأُخْتِ وَأُمَّهَٰتُكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِىٓ أَرْضَعْنَكُمْ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُم مِّنَ ٱلرَّضَٰعَةِ وَأُمَّهَٰتُ نِسَآئِكُمْ وَرَبَٰٓئِبُكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِى فِى حُجُورِكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِى دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَإِن لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَحَلَٰٓئِلُ أَبْنَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنْ أَصْلَٰبِكُمْ وَأَن تَجْمَعُوا۟ بَيْنَ ٱلْأُخْتَيْنِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭا ﴿٢٣﴾
En adelante, os están prohibidas vuestras madres, vuestras hijas, vuestras hermanas, vuestras tías paternas o maternas, vuestras sobrinas por parte de hermano o de hermana, vuestras madres de leche, vuestras hermanas de leche, las madres de vuestras mujeres, vuestras hijastras que están bajo vuestra tutela, nacidas de mujeres vuestras con las que habéis consumado el matrimonio -si no, no hay culpa-, las esposas de vuestros propios hijos, así como casaros con dos hermanas a un tiempo. Alá es indulgente, misericordioso.
