Yes. Allah ordered the punishment for theft in the Quran (5:38), which shows that it is a serious sin. Taking another person's property wrongfully in any way is forbidden.

Na mwizi mwanamume na mwizi mwanamke, ikateni mikono yao, hayo ni malipo ya waliyo yachuma, ndiyo adhabu ya mfano itokayo kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Na Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwenye nguvu na Mwenye hikima.
