Il Corano critica certe credenze e alcuni comportamenti di gruppi tra loro, come critica anche alcuni musulmani, ma dice anche che non sono tutti uguali: tra loro ci sono quelli che sono retti, che recitano i versetti di Dio di notte e si prosternano. Il Profeta ﷺ si alzò in piedi al passaggio del funerale di un ebreo e visse con vicini ebrei.
Il conflitto politico, come il conflitto israelo-palestinese, causa rabbia in alcuni musulmani e alcuni usano parole dure, e alcuni a torto lo rivolgono contro gli ebrei come popolo. Gli studiosi musulmani dicono che riguarda la terra e i diritti e non la religione, e che i musulmani devono distinguere tra le azioni di uno Stato e il popolo ebraico. Comunità ebraiche e musulmane vissero insieme per secoli, in Spagna, nelle terre ottomane e in Nord Africa.
They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allah during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer]. You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.
Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
