और अगर तुमको अन्देशा हो कि (निकाह करके) तुम यतीम लड़कियों (की रखरखाव) में इन्साफ न कर सकोगे तो और औरतों में अपनी मर्ज़ी के मवाफ़िक दो दो और तीन तीन और चार चार निकाह करो (फिर अगर तुम्हें इसका) अन्देशा हो कि (मुततइद) बीवियों में (भी) इन्साफ न कर सकोगे तो एक ही पर इक्तेफ़ा करो या जो (लोंडी) तुम्हारी ज़र ख़रीद हो (उसी पर क़नाअत करो) ये तदबीर बेइन्साफ़ी न करने की बहुत क़रीने क़यास है
और अगरचे तुम बहुतेरा चाहो (लेकिन) तुममें इतनी सकत तो हरगिज़ नहीं है कि अपनी कई बीवियों में (पूरा पूरा) इन्साफ़ कर सको (मगर) ऐसा भी तो न करो कि (एक ही की तरफ़) हमातन माएल हो जाओ कि (दूसरी को अधड़ में) लटकी हुई छोड़ दो और अगर बाहम मेल कर लो और (ज्यादती से) बचे रहो तो ख़ुदा यक़ीनन बड़ा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है
