Yes. The Quran counts gambling (maysir) with intoxicants as an abomination of Satan's work and commands us to avoid it (5:90). It also says that in them there is great sin and some benefit, but their sin is greater than their benefit (2:219).
হে মুমিনগণ, এই যে মদ, জুয়া, প্রতিমা এবং ভাগ্য-নির্ধারক শরসমূহ এসব শয়তানের অপবিত্র কার্য বৈ তো নয়। অতএব, এগুলো থেকে বেঁচে থাক-যাতে তোমরা কল্যাণপ্রাপ্ত হও।
শয়তান তো চায়, মদ ও জুয়ার মাধ্যমে তোমাদের পরস্পরের মাঝে শুত্রুতা ও বিদ্বেষ সঞ্চারিত করে দিতে এবং আল্লাহর স্মরণ ও নামায থেকে তোমাদেরকে বিরত রাখতে। অতএব, তোমরা এখন ও কি নিবৃত্ত হবে?
তারা তোমাকে মদ ও জুয়া সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞেস করে। বলে দাও, এতদুভয়ের মধ্যে রয়েছে মহাপাপ। আর মানুষের জন্যে উপকারিতাও রয়েছে, তবে এগুলোর পাপ উপকারিতা অপেক্ষা অনেক বড়। আর তোমার কাছে জিজ্ঞেস করে, কি তারা ব্যয় করবে? বলে দাও, নিজেদের প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যয়ের পর যা বাঁচে তাই খরচ করবে। এভাবেই আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্যে নির্দেশ সুস্পষ্টরূপে বর্ণনা করেন, যাতে তোমরা চিন্তা করতে পার।
